The existence of this version had been mentioned from the beginning, but Sony - publisher of the game on PS4 - and Kojima Productions did not mention anything about the game, not even questions at events. 505 Games will be the editor of this version.

The absence of mentions about its exclusivity in the promotion of Sony already gave a clue about its availability on another platform, although the license belongs to Sony and uses the technology of Decima Engine, the engine created by Guerrilla Games for Horizon: Zero Dawn. The period of temporary exclusivity was an unknown fact, but with the news, we already know an approximate date.
Although from the beginning Sony and Kojima Productions agreed that the game would also be on PC, this could be one of the first steps in a new PlayStation strategy, to take some of their titles to PC. In late August, Shawn Layden, then president of Sony Interactive Worldwide Studios, said titles developed by Sony itself could cease to be exclusive to PlayStation consoles and reach more platforms, something that was interpreted especially for titles with a focus on line, and thus have a larger player base. Shortly after these statements, on October 1 Sony published ReadySet Heroes on PS4, which tomorrow comes to PC through Epic Games Store, so it seems that more games published by Sony will reach computers in the future.
Kojima Productions also has a surprise for Paris Games Week 2019, which is believed to be the launch trailer that Kojima has released. The post-apocalyptic themed action game features actors Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner, among others, and tells us about a society that seems to have collapsed after a series of unknown events and circumstances called Death Stranding.
